Call for Papers
The Sociology Graduate Student Committee at San Diego State University is proud to present our 2nd Annual Graduate Student Conference. Our theme for this year is: Mind, Body, and Self in Contemporary Society.
This conference aims to examine the ill-effects of contemporary society toward the individual whether it is the mind, body, or self. We also seek to engage in critical dialogue, ranging from social institutions’ impact on certain bodies to the strain and stigma on mental awareness. We hope to create an interdisciplinary discourse in regard to the extent of contemporary society’s effect on the individual.
We welcome graduate students from all disciplines to discuss a variety of topics that is related to the individual’s placement in contemporary society. This includes, but is not limited to:

General Information:
This is a one-day graduate student conference scheduled for April 20, 2019 and will be held at San Diego State University. There is no conference fee.
Papers to present will be selected democratically by committee, and then, organized into logical categories. Conference details and day-of specifics will be communicated via email and this website.
We invite graduate students to submit an abstract (250 words) by February 15, 2019 for consideration.
